What are the requirements to build my granny flat?

There are a number of guidelines which you must comply with in order to build a granny flat. The current legislation is called the Affordable Rental Housing State Environmental Planning Policy 2009.

Can I build a granny flat in any local council?

Predominantly yes. There may be some restrictions which may apply to your block. To check if there are any restrictions a section 149(2) planning certificate can be purchased from your local council. Our friendly staff can help with ordering this certificate

What is the largest size granny flat l can build?

Can I choose my our design?

Yes, Most of our granny flats are custom designed to meet our clients needs and wants. You can meet with our design team or bring your own.

Can I select the fitting and fixtures?

Yes, Our design team will walk you through our showroom and help select your inclusions.

How long does it take to get approval before we can start building?

The design and approval process takes approximately 6-8 weeks for a standard build.

How long does the construction process take?

Typically, 12 weeks from start of construction, subject to weather.
